The former Faye Windass actress opened up on ITVBe reality show Drama Queens
The former Faye Windass star first joined the hit ITV soap when she was just 10 years old. She left the cobbles after 12 years in July last year, having endured some pretty major storylines - including a teen pregnancy, early menopause and her own adoption.
In the latest episode, Ellie opened up about her post-soap-life fears in a candid conversation with her parents. She explained she was "really scared" when she found out she was leaving. Ellie continued: "On Corrie when I got told that they had a storyline for me but it was gonna be an exit storyline, obviously I was like, 'Oh my god, my life's over.' I was like, 'I don't have anything. I don't have a job and I don't know when the next was gonna come, if the next one is gonna come.' And thank god Strictly came a couple of weeks after, but it is kind of like a blessing in disguise.
"I think the physical activity side, I can definitely see the impact it's having ... As a young woman and growing up in the public eye as well, it's been amazing, but it's also quite intense, and there's always eyes on you, everything that you do."
