Coronation Street star Phil Middlemiss, who played Des Barnes on the cobbles, is making a surprise soap return 26 years after his heartbreaking exit from the ITV soap
Phil Middlemiss, who played Coronation Street's Des Barnes, was a resident in Weatherfield in the 90’s, arriving alongside his on screen wife, Steph, who was played by Amelia Bullmore.
Therefore, a return to Coronation Street is ruled out, but the 60 year old is, however, returning to the screens in BBC series, Doctors, where he will play the role of DI Travis Lennox. Natalie was the landlady of the Rovers Return from 1998-2000. After husband Des’ death, she found herself in a relationship with Rovers potman, Vinny Sorrell. However, he then he ran off with her sister, causing her character to leave Weatherfield for good.
