Social media is abuzz with theories, with one viewer suggesting on Twitter: "Does anyone else think that Joel is dodgy and might have something to do with Lauren's disappearance or the heavy breathing phonecalls to Dee-Dee? #Corrie," while another chimed in: "Is Joel sending the hate emails? #Corrie."
Sharing his perspective on the storyline, actor Callum Lill said: "The thing I like about this, he's done a wrong thing but I think, not the right reasons, he's not meant to harm , he's just meant to have a good relationship with her," and added about the upcoming developments, "He's gonna have to grovel and explain himself but what I like about it is it's not black and white, it's kind of grey and in the middle.
