The Rovers Return is set to reopen in no time
With just two months to go until the end of the year, there’s still plenty to expect from the cobbles.
The Manchester Evening News spoke to Iain MacLeod, the producer of Coronation Street who revealed what is to be expected from the show. Viewers can expect a possible end of a much-loved relationship, plenty of returns, some new faces and a sad exit.READ MORE: Coronation Street's Billy Mayhew star supported after asking 'please help'
Iain told the MEN: “There are a few explosive Peter Barlow-style outbursts that start to bring to Carla's attention that he's really not okay and they find themselves at this enormous fork in the road where they love each other but perhaps their happiness is no longer reliant on each other which is to say maybe they'll start to wonder if they'll be happier somewhere or in some other situation somewhere else.
"And as we know, it's building towards an exit for Peter which is really brilliant and bittersweet." He added: "It's the culmination of over a decade-long love story so I think the viewers are going to really love it."It was revealed earlier this month that Carla will get an unexpected Christmas present this festive season in the shape of a surprise family member - played by a familiar face.
