Coronation Day Live: Guests arrive at the Abbey and finishing touches put in place before King Charles is crowned
Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey today in a ceremony attended by 2,200 people.
The King, who was the longest serving Prince of Wales in history, becomes the 40th monarch to be crowned and anointed in the ancient building, where, just seven months ago, the nation bid a final farewell to the late Queen Elizabeth. The ceremony is due to start at 11am, with The King's Procession leaving Buckingham Palace at around 10.20am. After a two hour service - reduced from the huge three hour Coronation that the late Queen had 70 years ago in 1953 - the newly crowned King and Queen will return to the Palace.
