With the Rangers leading 4-1, Seager was hit by an 82 mph 0-2 sweeping slider from Seattle reliever Austin Voth. As he tried to avoid the pitch, it hit him squarely on the shin of his back leg. He went to first and, after being looked at by trainers, stayed in the game, but ran slowly to second on Nathaniel Lowe’s ground ball. With the Rangers up 5-1, he did not come out for the eighth inning and was replaced by Davis Wendzel., then was limited to DH for three more.
