Cops: Woman who claimed continuous harassment provide little reliable info

IPOH: The case of a make-up artist who claimed to have been harassed by her former boyfriend for four years was classified as"No Further Action" by the police due to the lack of evidence, says Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abd Aziz. The statement from the police came after the 49-year-old woman, Wong Tai Kwien , claimed during a press conference on Thursday that she was being harrassed by the former boyfriend.

"The only information we got from the woman is that the ex-boyfriend's name was Faizal and he is a Myanmar national. "The woman could not provide any other detail regarding the man, including his mobile phone number and address," he said. "She also showed us where the man worked, which was at a Chinese restaurant in Greentown, but upon checking, we found that there was no one named Faizal who worked there.

ACP A. Asmadi said the woman also claimed that she had stayed with the ex-boyfriend for about six months at a budget hotel here."We submitted the investigation paper to the public prosecutor's office but it was recommended that no further action be taken due to insufficient evidence," he added.
