KUALA LUMPUR: An investigation paper has been opened on the Women’s March 2023.
In a statement, Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said that the assembly on Sunday in front of the Sogo shopping centre and Dataran Merdeka was being investigated under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and the Minor Offences Act.
He added that police investigations showed that around 150 people including NGO activists, students and political party members had joined the rally. “All identified individuals in the assembly will be called to the Dang Wangi police headquarters for statements to be recorded in the near future to facilitate investigations.
“The investigation paper will be completed and forwarded to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action,” he said. He also urged all to not be involved in any illegal rallies and that action can be taken against those involved.
