They believe up to 12 people were involved
A 22-year-old man was attacked at around 11.20pm last Thursday after a disturbance involving a number of men unfolded.
He was rushed to hospital after the incident, which happened on Dorset Road at its junction with Oxford Road in Greenock. Officers have been carrying out door-to-door queries as well as scouring CCTV and dashcam footage in the Larkfield area and have established that around a dozen people may have been involved.
Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Police remain around Oxford Road and are asking residents and visitors for any information they may have about“We are aware that up to a dozen males were involved in the disorder, but are particularly keen to trace one man who was seen in the area any may be able to assist with our enquiries.“As ever, we rely on the assistance of our local communities and residents should have confidence that we will treat any information confidentially.
