IPOH: Two brothers have been detained after police busted a drug processing lab operating inside a rented house in Kampar.
Perak police chief Datuk Seri Comm Mohd Yusri Hassan said the two, aged 44 and 45, are believed to be involved in the processing and distribution of heroin.He said during the raid, police confiscated heroin weighing 40.135kg, caffeine weighing 11.05kg, and a type of liquid believed to be drugs weighing 4kg, with the total drugs estimated to be worth RM665,782.
"The drugs were meant for local distribution and could be used by 85,000 drug addicts," he told a press conference at the state police contingent here on Wednesday .He said both the suspects tested positive for morphine, but they did not have any previous criminal record."Both the suspects have been remanded until Jan 16, and the case is being investigated under Section 39b of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. If convicted they could face the death sentence," he added.
