KUALA LUMPUR: Police have uncovered a syndicate selling ganja and ganja-laced cookies, following the arrest of three suspects.
City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said police were alerted to the syndicate's activities after arresting a 28-year-old man at Kampung Baru here at around 11.45pm on June 21."Following his arrest, we then arrested a 40-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman after stopping a BMW at a parking lot of a condominium at Jalan Pinang at around 7.45pm on June 23.
"We found 2.77kg of ganja and 24 bottles, believed to be containing 2.5kg of cookies laced with liquid cannabis," he said in a statement Saturday , adding that police also seized RM1,000 from both suspects. He said in a follow-up operation, police raided a house at Alam Budiman Shah Alam at around 2.30am on June 24 and found 4.11kg of ganja, 173ml of cannabis oil, 515 gold bars, 400 silver bars, a Perodua Axia and a Daihatsu van."All three suspects did not have any prior records and have been remanded to facilitate investigations into drug trafficking," he said, adding that the suspects have been operating for three months and the drugs could have supplied 400 users.
