Police arrested two people, aged 38 and 39, for allegedly scamming hordes of people in elaborate scans amounting to more than R7 million.

Durban - Police have arrested two suspects in a sting operation at a farm just outside Camperdown in KwaZulu-Natal which led to the discovery of a multi-million rand fraud racket in which scores of residents across the province were scammed. The cousins, aged 38 and 39, were arrested on charges relating to fraud and money laundering and are due in court on Monday.

He said some of the complainants in the reported cases alleged that they were called by a person who lured them into investing in a business. The investigation into all the reported cases was led by a team of seasoned detectives based at the Pietermaritzburg police station.
