Cops arrest man for allegedly lighting fireworks along MRR2

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man who was seen lighting fireworks on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said in a statement on Sunday that a viral video of the man lighting fireworks on the busy road prompted an investigation into the incident."On April 15 at 10pm, a police team arrested a 35 year old lorry driver in Jalan Dagang," he said.

"The suspect lit the firecracker after being asked by customers of a business that was owned by his friend. No criminal record was found and the urine test conducted came back negative," added ACP Mohamad Farouk.
