JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested a couple after running away from being inspected in Taman Impian Emas , Skudai, here.
Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the incident occurred at 11.20pm on July 24, during a routine crime prevention patrol in the area when they saw a car driven in a suspicious condition. “The car was driven by a 27-year-old man and his 20-year-old girlfriend; the woman had also brought her child.
“The driver had decided to speed off from being inspected and had gone through a few areas in Johor Baru before finally being caught at Taman Impian Emas,” he said in a statement here on Saturday .He added that the couple had run away as they were under the influence of drugs; both were tested positive for methamphetamine.
“There were six MPVs involved in the chase, and this is not a kidnapping case,” he said, adding that no injuries were recorded in the case.Earlier, a 17-second video was posted on X by a user under the name @update11111 showing six police MPVs chasing a car.
