KUALA LUMPUR: The Red Notice against businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low and four other fugitives linked to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal is still active, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail ."However, no country out of the 195 member nations with Interpol has been able to confirm the whereabouts of these persons ," the Home Minister said in a written reply to Dr Mohamed Taufiq Johari in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday .
Saifuddin added that police here are still working with law enforcement overseas such as the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and Singapore police, among other countries, to track down Low and his Malaysian associates. In December 2018, Low, Terence Geh Choh Heng, Casey Tang Keng Chee, Jasmine Loo and Eric Tan Kim Loong were charged in absentia in Magistrate's Courts in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.ALSO READ:On former SRC International Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, Saifuddin said his case is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission .
In November 2021, SRC, a former subsidiary of 1MDB, was granted a judgment in default in an RM4bil suit against Nik Faisal, who is reported to still be at large.On a separate matter, Saifuddin said child abuse resulted in the deaths of 220 children over a five-year period between 2018 and last year. "Based on the breakdown, 133 cases involved boys while 89 cases were girls," he said in a written reply to Salamiah Mohd Nor .User access status:
