The forecast for Central Ohio indicates a shift to colder temperatures with scattered rain and snow showers. Warmer temperatures today will give way to a significant drop tomorrow, leading to possible light snow accumulation over the weekend. Additionally, local authorities are seeking information regarding a prowler sighting and provide an update on the Tepe murder investigation.

Good Tuesday morning! Today promises to be the warmest day for a while with a high hovering around 49 degrees Fahrenheit. We are waking up to temperatures in the upper 20s and a beautiful sunrise, but expect clouds to move in rapidly, resulting in mostly cloudy conditions throughout the day. It will be breezy, with southwest winds blowing at 10-20+ mph. There's a very slim possibility of a stray light rain shower or two late this afternoon or evening.

The night will remain cloudy, with temperatures staying in the 40-degree range for most of the night. A stray rain shower is also possible overnight or early tomorrow. Prepare for a noticeable temperature drop tomorrow as we shift back towards below-normal temperatures for the remainder of the extended forecast. Temperatures will start in the lower 40s at daybreak, then plummet into the 30s during the afternoon, and further down to the 20s by the evening. Wind chills will make it feel several degrees colder due to northwest winds of 10-15+ mph ushering in colder air. As temperatures decline, we'll transition from scattered rain showers early on to pockets of light wintry mix and snow showers by midday and extending into the afternoon. A few lingering light snow showers are likely to persist from Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Expect a very cold Thursday with a high of around 25 degrees Fahrenheit and mostly cloudy skies. Wind chills will plunge into the single digits on Thursday and Friday mornings. \The weather pattern will bring more snow for the weekend. Friday will be predominantly cloudy, with an attempt to warm up to approximately 34 degrees Fahrenheit in the afternoon. Further light snow showers are likely on Friday afternoon and into Saturday. Saturday morning will begin in the mid-20s, with temperatures gradually increasing to a high of around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. This upcoming round of snow has the potential to bring a couple of inches of accumulation to Central Ohio, making it the most significant chance for accumulation within the 7-day forecast. Get ready for frigid conditions heading into next week. Sunday will be exceptionally cold, with a morning low around 11 degrees Fahrenheit, and only warming up to a high of around 19 degrees Fahrenheit. More light snow showers are anticipated late Sunday into Monday, although the amount of moisture appears to be less significant. Monday will commence with temperatures around 13 degrees Fahrenheit, then gradually warm up to a high of around 22 degrees Fahrenheit, accompanied by some light snow showers. Have a good one and stay warm!\In other news, authorities are urging residents to submit any footage they may have of a prowler sighted in the vicinity of Sawmill and Hard roads in Columbus. Furthermore, Columbus Police discovered the Tepes in their home on North Fourth Street on December 30th. The man accused of murdering a Columbus couple was apprehended just hours before their friends and family gathered to bid their final farewells. On Saturday, police in Illinois took Michael McKee into custody and charged him with the murder of Spencer and Monique Tepe. The ex-husband charged in the Tepe murders waived his right to an extradition hearing
