Even though we hit 90 degrees today, so far, September ranks as the 5th coolest start to the month with average temperatures around 77 degrees. Sunny skies and warm temperatures continue Friday. The breeze returns along our beaches this weekend which may also bring back Coastal Flood Advisories. Patchy to areas of dense fog is expected early Friday morning.Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will continue tomorrow as patchy fog develops the next couple of mornings, mainly west of the River. The onshore flow returns Saturday and Sunday with a slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms.Friday: Patchy to areas of dense fog then becoming mostly sunny to partly cloudy. A cool start to the day with lows in the 60s inland, upper 60s to 70s along the beaches. Afternoon highs in the 80s to low 90s. Wind: NE 5-10 mph, 10 - 15 mph along our beaches. Mostly clear overnight with patchy fog inland.Looking ahead: Increasing wind from the northeast with a chance of showers and isolated storms on Saturday and Sunday. The wind is expected to be a little stronger Sunday and around 15-20 mph with stronger gusts and a 30 percent chance of showers, based on current models and timing. Tropics: Tropical Storm Gabrielle is struggling against the wind shear. No local hazards expected. The other area trying to develop in the wake of TS Gabrielle has weak chances.
