Forecasters say that a thick marine layer on Saturday morning could prevent the public from observing a partial solar eclipse, especially in coastal areas.
The winds will blow onshore much of this weekend along the San Diego County coastline, creating a dense marine layer that could obscure a partial solar eclipse that will occur on Saturday morning, the National Weather Service said. The clouds will begin to thicken before dawn Friday and could release some drizzle before they largely burn off in late morning or early afternoon. The marine layer will form again before dawn on Saturday, becoming at least 2,000 feet deep in some areas.
And the cloud deck could extend all the way to inland valleys. It appears that the winds will ease on Sunday as high pressure begins to return to Southern California, bringing warmer weather. San Diego's daytime high will be 73 on Friday, 74 on Saturday and 78 on Sunday. The seasonal average is 75. Oceanside will be even crisper, reaching only 68 in the harbor area on Friday and Saturday and 70 on Sunday.
