Expect cool, clear, breezy weather when the San Diego Padres hold their season home opener on Thursday against the Atlanta Braves, starting at 5:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service says the temperature will be 64 degrees at game time, a reading that will fall to 58 by 7 p.m. and a touch further by 8 p.m. The wind will gust out of the west at 10 to 15 mph during the first part of the game. Then the sea breeze will diminish. The marine layer will begin to move ashore about 10 p.m.
