SEMPORNA: The Marine Police Force (MPF) foiled an attempt to smuggle out 4,216kg of cooking oil via the waters off here on Tuesday.
Sabah MPF Commander ACP Ahmad Ariffin said a team on “Op Taring Gelora” duties spotted a suspicious boat abandoned in the mangrove areas off Tobo-Tobo waters around 4pm off.“The team approached the boat and upon inspection, found 4,216kg of cooking oil in packets hidden in the boat.
According to Ahmad Ariffin, the seized cooking oil was estimated worth RM10,540 and RM76,004 including the boat and engine.
