After being sentenced to multiple life terms in Delaware, Keith Gibson was found guilty of all charges in his Philadelphia murder trial. On June 6, 2026, a jury found that Gibson, who called himself"The Beast," is responsible for four murders committed between January and June 2021.
Gibson killed Roy Caban and Eric Flores, his mother, Christine Gibson, and Dunkin' manager Christine Lugo during a robbery in Northeast Philadelphia.. He had been previously sentenced to seven life sentences in Delaware in connection with the killings of Leslie Ruiz-Basilio and Ronald Wright. During his Philadelphia trial, several emotional moments unfolded in the courtroom as jurors were shown photographs of Flores and Caban. Family members of the victims also attended the proceedings.
Wednesday marked the second day of accused serial killer Keith Gibson in Philadelphia. NBC10's Isabel Sanchez was in court for the testimony as family members of one of the victim's took the stand. According to prosecutors, the case began with the shooting deaths of Caban and Flores inside a store on Germantown Avenue in January 2021. Days later, investigators say Gibson shot and killed his mother at her workplace.
According to NBC10's newsgathering partner, KYW Newsradio, prosecutors said he killed her to try to get her life insurance money. On May 15, 2021, he shot and killed Leslie Ruiz-Basilio, 28, during a robbery at a Metro PCS store on Kirkwood Highway in Elsmere, Delaware, and stole her car. Officials said over the following three days, Gibson robbed or assaulted another three victims.
Gibson was arrested on June 8, 2021, in connection with one of the robberies at a Wilmington Rite Aid in which he shot and injured a store clerk. After opening statements, jurors heard testimony from some of the first officers who responded to the Germantown Avenue double homicide, the medical examiner assigned to the case and crime scene personnel who processed the scene.
