Heather Rodriquez, 36, was babysitting 1-year-old Jiryiah Johnson when three of her dogs broke through a door and attacked the child.
A Bexar County grand jury has indicted a Converse woman in a gruesome dog attack in October that killed a 1-year-old boy. Heather Rodriquez , 36, was arrested Oct. 8, one day after three pit bull terriers broke into a room at her home in the 9700 block of Spruce Ridge Drive in Converse and attacked Jiryiah Johnson as he sat in the lap of Rodriquez 's daughter.

Once she was able to grasp the child, she ran down a hall and to an upstairs bathroom, but the dogs continued their attack. She eventually was able to get Jiryiah away from their grasp, ran to another bedroom and barricaded the door from the dogs.
Animal Care Services still unable to respond to thousands of critical calls Rodriquez is currently in the Bexar County jail in lieu of bail totaling $250,000. She is awaiting a trial date, court records indicate. Two of the charges against Rodriquez are second-degree felonies, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. An additional state jail felony charge is punishable by a maximum of two years in a state jail facility.
