Jonathan Gannon, the Eagles’ former defensive coordinator, was dismissed as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, according to Gannon spent three seasons at the helm of the Cardinals.

He compiled a 15-36 record, going 4-13 in 2023, 8-9 in 2024 and 3-14 this past season. Gannon got the job in Arizona after coordinating the Eagles’ defense in 2021 and 2022. The former Indianapolis Colts assistant followed Nick Sirianni to Philly but didn’t stay too long. Gannon left for the Cardinals job two days after the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-35, in Super Bowl LVII. In April 2023, it was reported that Gannon interviewed with the Cardinals the week after the Eagles won the NFC Championship game, which is a period of impermissible conduct., the Eagles’ front office was furious with Gannon, believing he was distracted by the opportunity in Arizona prior to the Super Bowl.
