The City Council is expected to consider ordinances next month
Various policies that would favor labor unions are expected to come before the Chula Vista City Council next month.
Earlier this year, the county adopted a minimum wage law for road project workers. However, it is being challenged in federal court over claims it should be declared preempted by the National Labor Relations Act. Assistant City Manager Tiffany Allen said the city should wait until the lawsuit is resolved.
Contractors would need to disclose state contractor and subcontractor licenses, workers’ compensation insurance information, state and federal tax identification numbers and any past or pending enforcement actions against the contractor.
