A Marion man who prosecutors say took hundreds of thousands of dollars from customers for pole barns and other construction projects but never delivered the work has been sentenced to at least 17 years in prison.

Needels was also ordered to pay $448,000 in restitution.Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced Thursday that Ryan C. Needels, owner of Clear View Construction, was convicted of 47 felony counts and sentenced in Delaware County Common Pleas Court. Yost said Needels defrauded consumers of more than $400,000. Authorities said Needels he ran a long-term scheme in which he accepted large payments for pole barns or other construction projects but instead stole victims’ money.
