Contract offer 'expected' for Leeds United-linked Matt O'Riley Leeds United were linked with a host of players in the final days of the summer transfer window, with Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley reported to have been one of the many interesting the club before Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara sealed moves to boost Daniel Farke's engine room.
Sky Sports reported that O'Riley was the subject of a £10million bid from Leeds, but it now appears that the club are looking to secure the 22-year-old's future by offering him new terms. Off the pitch, this season has been challenging to say the very least, but it’s been testing on the pitch, too, with Leeds picking up one win from their opening five Championship games. To their credit, they’ve only lost one and they have been the dominant side in most games, but Farke will be keen to get his side moving in the right direction quickly to avoid more ground being lost in their hunt for promotion.
Farke will no doubt welcome the time to work with those players who are not on international duty and give those struggling with injuries another couple of weeks to work up their fitness. So what awaits on the other side of the international break?
