A fire broke out at a construction site in Everett, Washington, spreading to two homes under construction and causing significant damage. One home was completely destroyed, while the second sustained exterior damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A fire that broke out at a home under construction in Everett early on February 19, 2025, spread to a second house also under construction, sending flames shooting into the night sky. Everett Fire Department (EFD) crews arrived at the home in the alley of 1900 Lombard Avenue just after 1 a.m. Wednesday to find a house engulfed in flames, with the fire rapidly spreading to a second home under construction. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze within about 20 minutes.
A Snohomish PUD crew was also called to the scene to secure downed power lines that fell during the intense firefight. The house where the fire originated is a complete loss, while the second home sustained significant exterior damage. A third existing home and a gazebo nearby suffered minor damage. Fortunately, no one was displaced from the third home, and there were no reported injuries. Both homes under construction were vacant at the time of the fire. While the EFD and Everett police have not yet determined whether the fire was suspicious, a neighbor provided KOMO News with their surveillance footage. The video captured a man running down the alley just before the flames erupted. However, it remains unclear if this man played any role in the fire's ignition
