Via banderainquirer Halos limang buwan na ang COVID-19 crisis pero tila walang epektibong solusyong nagawa ang gobyerno para labanan ang paglaganap o pagdami ng may COVID-19.

Naghihintay ang mga pasahero ng libreng sakay habang sinisigurong may social distancing sa Commonwealth Avenue sa Tandang Sora, Quezon City noong Martes, Agosto 4, ang araw na muling isinailalim ang Metro Manila sa modified enhanced community quarantine .

Maaaring totoo na ang vaccine laban sa COVID-19 ay ang tanging makakapagpigil sa crisis na ito, pero may mga paraan naman para mapigilan ang paglaganap nito habang hinihintay ang vaccine. Nagawa ito ng mga ibang bansa, gaya nang Vietnam, New Zealand at lalong lalo na ng Taiwan. Kaya walang duda na pwede din itong gawin at mangyari dito. Ngunit dahil sa umaasa na lang sa pag dating ng vaccine, walang nilatag na epektibong programa, plano at diskarte para mapigilan ang paglaganap at pagdami nito.

Ang pagtatalaga ng mga namumuno sa mga ahensyang pangunahing lumalaban sa COVID-19 crisis ay hindi din nakatulong. Karamihan sa kanila ay mga retiradong military o police generals na walang karanasan o sapat na pag-aaral sa ganitong klaseng pandemya. Bukod sa mass testing, contact tracing at isolation dapat din ipairal ang social distancing. Ito siguro ang dapat ipairal mabuti dahil ito ang laging nalalabag. Maaalala natin na kailan lang, nilagay at pinagsamasama sa Rizal Coliseum ang mga higit kumulang na 6,500 na locally stranded individual na imposibleng mag social distancing. Kung sino man ang official ng gobyerno na nakaisip gawin ito ay dapat managot.
