The return of the Mac also meant the return of the mohawk.
LAS VEGAS — The return of the Mac also meant the return of the mohawk. The Notorious MMA fighter, less than 24 hours ago, had a full head of hair and a beard during his weigh-ins and press appearances ahead of his UFC 329 main-event spot against Max HollowayBut that was no more, as McGregor arrived at T-Mobile Arena with a shaved head and some hair on top representing the same mohawk style that he had in 2013 when he fought the Hawaiian.
McGregor also came in wearing a full suit with a vest and all, alongside his longtime manager, Audie Attar, who wore an all-white suit. The Irish-born fighter was hoping to turn back the clock and is bringing his hair with him, as the mohawk is what he famously wore in his early days as a competitor.
When McGregor fought in 2013 against Marcus Brimage, he rocked the mohawk that turned him from a regional fighter into a global superstar in short order. That was 13 years ago, though, and McGregor was fighting at 145 pounds, but that is a thing of the past. McGregor weighed in at 170.5 pounds for his welterweight bout with Holloway, who has never fought at welterweight.
