Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are reportedly set to renew hostilities and re-make their grudge fight for June 3 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
At their first press conference last year, it was clear that the pair had respect for one another and there was no true hatred between them despite their family history.Benn’s positive drugs tests were made public on the week of the proposed bout and ultimately caused the BBBofC to prohibit it from taking place.Eubank Jr was still willing to go ahead with the contest and so furious with Benn not just for testing positive, but ruining his multi-million pound payday.
He did co-operate with the WBC sanctioning body’s investigation, though this probe never had the power to ban him from boxing in the first place and does not operate based on UKAD’s strict liability principle under which athletes are solely responsible for whatever substances are found in their system.
