Pats star Connor Bedard had two goals and four assists Thursday to help Canada blank Austria 11\u002D0 at the world junior hockey championship.

Bedard had two goals, giving him a lifetime total of 14, and added four assists Thursday as Canada blanked Austria 11-0 in Halifax. The Regina-born Eberle, now of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, played for Canada at the 2009 and 2010 world junior tournaments. He and Bedard both have 14 goals in 12 career world junior games.Advertisement 3Downplaying his accomplishments on Thursday, Bedard told TSN: “We had a lot of goals. I had a few fluky ones. It’s just bouncing for me right now.”

Thursday’s six-point outing vaulted Bedard into second place on Canada’s all-time world junior scoring list. With 27 points, he is four behind Eric Lindros, who played in 21 games over three tournaments., who moved into a five-way tie for most points in one world junior game by a Canadian.From North Vancouver, Bedard is widely expected to be the first player selected in the 2023 NHL draft.

As a Pat this season, he boasts WHL-leading totals in goals , assists and points even though he has not played a major-junior game since Dec. 4. He is on a 27-game point-scoring streak in the WHL.
