Alabama officials helping families locate men in Ukraine.
LAWRENCE Co., Ala. - Congressman Robert Aderholt is now helping locate a Lawrence County, Alabama man who has not been heard from in Ukraine in a more than a week.
“According to Huynh’s family, they have not been in contact with him since June 8, 2022, when he was in the Kharkiv area of Ukraine. As you can imagine, his loved ones are very concerned about him. My office has placed inquires with both the United States Department of State and the Federal Bureau of Investigation trying to get any information possible.
Aderholt spokesperson, Carson Clark, confirmed another man from Alabama is also missing, and he was with Huynh.Senators Shelby and Tuberville and Congresswoman Sewell are aware and helping Drueke’s family. “Earlier this week, the mother of Alexander Drueke, a Tuscaloosa Army Veteran who volunteered to assist the Ukrainian Army in combating Russia, reached out to my office after losing contact with her son. According to his family, they have not heard from Drueke in several days.

2 US Veterans From Alabama Reported Missing in UkraineTwo U.S. veterans from Alabama who were in Ukraine assisting in the war against Russia haven’t been heard from in days and are missing. Members of the state’s congressional delegation say relatives of 27-year-old Andy Tai Ngoc Huynh of Trinity and 39-year-old Alexander Drueke of Tuscaloosa have been in contact with Capitol Hill offices seeking information about the men’s whereabouts. The U.S. State Department says it is looking into reports that Russian or Russian-backed separatist forces in Ukraine had captured at least two American citizens. If confirmed, they would be the first Americans fighting for Ukraine known to have been captured since the war began Feb. 24.
