Democratic Republic of Congo expelled a French journalist working for Reuters after her application for journalistic accreditation was not approved.
Sonia Rolley applied in September for accreditation to take up an assignment coordinating Reuters news coverage in Congo. She was granted permission to cover a climate conference in the capital, Kinshasa, in October while she waited for the application to be processed.
The police communications department referred Reuters to the Interior Ministry. Reuters was unable to reach the Interior Ministry spokesman late on Tuesday, and calls to officials at the Ministry of Communications and Media went unanswered. The official, who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media, did not specify the services he was referring to.

DR Congo, Rwanda 'Committed to End Political Crisis'Top diplomats from Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda, who met in Luanda under the mediation of Angola, decided to maintain the path of dialogue for the solution to the political tension between the two countries. Tension between both countries has grown in recent months, after the resumption of fighting between the DRC army and the M23 movement last March, in which the DRC authorities accuse neighbouring country Rwanda of fueling the conflict. "The intention is for the parties to ascertain, from a technical point of view, what is really happening on the ground", and insisted that "the parties must dialogue".
