In November, the iconic Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel in Cape Town, is set to host its annual event known as Confections X Collections (CxC). Over five days, CxC will feature exclusive salon-style fashion shows paired with designer-inspired sweets, bringing together fashion and confectionery in an exquisite fusion.
From 8 to 12 November 2023, the Mount Nelson will be putting on two fashion shows per designer at 11am and 3pm. The event promises to shine a spotlight on the burgeoning world of African fashion, emphasising the values of slow, deliberate design.
Joining them are Bubu Ogisi of IAMISIGO, based in Nigeria, dedicated to preserving ancestral textile techniques; Adeju Thompson, the founder of Lagos Space Programme; and Palesa Mokubung’s Mantsho, a Johannesburg-based brand known for its bold and print-centric garments rooted in African indigenous culture.
