Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic look as Conan the Barbarian almost didn't happen, as the director originally wanted for the film, Ralph Bakshi, requested the star shed some pounds. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Bakshi, now retired, revealed that Schwarzenegger took him to lunch to ask him to direct the project and that he agreed to it on the condition that the star ditched his iconic muscular look.
