KOTA KINABALU: A company owner was apprehended by anti-graft investigators in connection with making a false claim for the purported supply of diving equipment valued at RM18,000 to a state agency.
The suspect in his 40s was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigators at the state MACC head office at about 11pm on Friday , sources said. The source said the suspect was believed to have made the false claim in 2019 when no supply was made to the state agency.When contacted, Sabah MACC director Datuk S. Karunanithy confirmed the arrest.He said investigations under the section involved those providing documents such as receipts or invoices that were false or contained false details with the intention to deceive.
