Sydneysiders making their way from work are facing significant delays, with large crowds gathered outside the city's major train stations, due to an earlier network-wide communication outage which brought services to a standstill.
apologising for âany inconvenienceâ. Iâm bloody stuck and canât get home. And theyâve closed Redfern station and kicked us all out!A Transport for NSW spokesperson said an outage of the Digital Train Radio System on the Sydney Trains Network had occurred around 2.45pm.
"This is the digital radio system that connects the train crew with the signaller of our Rail Operations Centre," the spokesperson said. "Engineers are on site and looking at the system fault and determining if we implement a back-up system located at Homebush," the spokesperson said.More to come.
