A family in Mechanicsburg is receiving support from the community after a house fire destroyed their home and belongings, including birthday gifts for their 3-year-old daughter. A GoFundMe has been launched, and a local trauma recovery center is also assisting the family, as well as its clinical director Jenny whose family also lost everything in the fire.

"In a matter of moments, everything they owned was lost," Leedy wrote. "The family is now facing the unimaginable challenge of starting over from scratch, with nothing left but the clothes on their backs. Their 3-year-old daughter, who just celebrated her birthday, lost all her new toys and clothes from her special day." The GoFundMe hopes to raise $11,000 to help cover the cost of new clothing, household items and toys. At the time of writing, more than $9,000 has already been raised. The day following the fire, the Center for Hope and Healing in Camp Hill took to Facebook to say its clinical director, Jenny, and her family lost everything in the fire. "She has always been someone who gives endlessly to others — offering support, kindness, and compassion to clients, coworkers, and our community every single day," the trauma recovery center wrote.
