She was named Phoenix by her rescuers and like a Phoenix,It was on Feb. 7, Phoenix found her way onto a Nixon woman's front porch, crying in pain for help after someone set her on fire."It's heartwarming to see people giving of themselves, and just their concern and care for Phoenix," said Ashley Book, Medical Director, 4 Little Paws Rescue.
Phoenix had her first surgery to remove burned skin earlier this week and is having a 2nd surgery next week. When she was initially brought in for treatment, her kidneys were a major concern as they tried to keep her body hydrated.Phoenix's pain management has also been a concern because she has already been through so much, and the treatments are painful.
While Phoenix continues her recovery, her story has touched many and communities are rallying around her. account, and thousands more has come in through Facebook and to 4 Little Paws.
