Community members rallying in support of Vice President Kamala Harris ' presidential campaign at Washington Square Park in downtown Rochester , Monday, July 22, 2024. The Democratic party's decision for its nominee is not yet final, but people showed up to Washington Square Park Monday to cheer Harris on.Connor O'Brien, who was one of the organizers for the rally, said the newly formed group called " Rochester for Harris" was created spontaneously.
Dozens of Democratic community members, including Sen. Jeremy Cooney and Brighton Town Supervisor Bill Moehle, also came out Monday to show their support for Harris. Patrick Reilly, chair for the Monroe County Republican Committee, said Republicans would be happy to have former President Donald Trump go up against Harris in November.
Rally attendee and IUE-CWA representative Kendall Bell said Harris will have a lot of support behind her.
