This incident prompted the establishment of the Tamborine Mountain Community Disaster Preparedness Working Group aimed at equipping community members with the skills to be more self-reliant during disasters. Meanwhile, the Gold Coast Motor Museum, managed by Carl Amor, was also severely damaged by the storms. The estimated damage stands at $2 billion.
