Michelle Mann The OSCAR Club’s Seventh Annual Community Wide Day of Service is Saturday, and everyone is invited to participate in the annual event that provides an opportunity to enhances the city and help a neighbor.

More than 50 civic clubs, churches, businesses and individuals will be participating. At the kickoff at 8 a.m. Saturday at Bates Memorial Stadium Cooper will read a proclamation recognizing the importance of the project initiated and annually organized by the OSCAR Club, said OSCAR Club member Charlene Goolsby. “We appreciate the city’s support.”

“Find an elderly neighbor that could use a little extra help with spring cleaning. Or, if you’ve noticed a particular area where trash is piling up on the side of the road, clean it up. Let’s pour into our community and each other on this annual day of service,” Cooper said. The Luncheon Pilot Club of Enterprise’s project in advance of the annual “E” Day of Service was delivering baked goods to the Enterprise Department of Public Works in Enterprise. Public Works is made up of four sections of 70 employees and they had requested that the club furnish the baked goods when the majority of their personnel would be on duty.
