"So the Thanksgiving event is in honor of my son," said Alajawan's mother, Ayanna Brown. "He was shot and killed on purpose, but in the case of mistaken identity when he was 12 years old." "When Alajawan was alive, he always said he wanted to make a difference in his community, and one of the things he was notorious for was for feeding people," said Brown.

"I love my uncle, I was too young to like remember him, but he’s a great guy," said Semaj Croome. "I’ve heard a lot from my mother and my grandmother and I appreciate him and my family."
