Mayor Mark Saliba stressed the importance of resolving this issue.
The issue probably would've gone unnoticed if not brought up by Commissioner Bradley Bedwell when hiring a new IT Director for the city.
DOTHAN, Ala. - The Dothan City Commission is supposedly searching for solutions to a multi-million dollar software issue. He expressed concerns of hiring an internal candidate for the city’s IT Director position when the previous IT Director was one of the people who recommended the software. Bedwell was the only commissioner to oppose the hiring during the vote.
After being brought to light, Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba said they’ve been working to try to find solutions to the $16 million mishap. “They have gone off and had a conference and met with some other groups to determine what our options are moving forward,” said Saliba. “As they continue to gather information, they’ll bring some options back to the city commission and of course, we will make some decisions from there.
