Comme des Garçons is bringing back the Air Max Dolce, an obscure sneaker with loafer qualities from the early 2000s.arrives in all-black with a patent leather vamp replacing the rubber web used more than 20 years ago.
Its sidewalls, which features a series of furrowed arrows pointing to the heel, also appear to have been altered with a heartier rubber, while leather now sweeps around the collar. Keeping with the sleek changes, the heel Air Max unit is no longer translucent and instead rendered opaquely in black.Branding then arrives with “Comme des Garçons Homme Plus” stamped into the leather tongue tag and a Swoosh formed into the glossy plastic heel.originally released the Air Max Dolce in 2002 with a molded Phylon upper containing an inner sleeve. Calling it a cult classic would be an overstatement, but it’s occasionally popped up on lists of obscure sneakers or suggestions for models for Nike to revive. The Dolce is still certainly an oddball today, but one that appears better suited for the moment now that sneaker-loafers have had a solid proof of concept. CDG showed its Air Max Dolce in both all-white and all-black colorways during Paris Fashion Week last summer, but official imagery has thus far only surfaced for the former.Dolce will likely release in the coming months.
