THE Commission on Elections has exempted several top government and law enforcement officials from the gun ban during the election period, Comelec chairman Saidamen Pangarungan announced Monday, April 11, 2022.
Exempted from the ban were the Vice President, senators, congressmen, court justices, and Cabinet secretaries up to assistant secretaries. Pangarungan said the Comelec recognized the prevailing threats in the lives of these officials as they perform their duties and responsibilities.
