Column: In landmark vote, shareholders tell Chevron to report on its climate lobbying
The oil and gas industry has never been shy about deploying its billions of dollars in resources to get what it wants from the political system.Industry lobbyists have been trying to persuade the Securities and Exchange Commission to implement rules aimed at shrinking shareholders’ ability to place proposals on annual meeting agendas.
