Gwyneth Armstrong is the first woman recipient of the Patrick Gangwer Brewing Scholarship, which covers tuition in the fermentation science program.
When Gwyneth Armstrong brewed and tapped her first beer, her dad did what any other father would do: Grabbed a bunch of growlers and shared the drink.
Gwyn also brewed “The Saison of the Witch” in collaboration with women throughout Ohio at the Phoenix Brewing Company in Mansfield. It was released Tuesday for International Women’s Collaborative Brew Day at Phoenix and BrewDog Franklinton. “Beer started civilization and families brewed beer, and the women in the families were the main brewers,” said Hedin, a fermentation specialist. “It’s a joy and a privilege to have Gwyneth in the program.”
