Good morning, Central Ohio! A quiet weekend is on tap with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will climb into the low 50s this afternoon with stubborn cloud cover. Clouds may clear out briefly before clouds increase again overnight. Overnight lows will be colder in the upper 30s. It will be a couple of degrees warmer on Sunday with highs in the low 60s. Mostly cloudy skies persist on Monday as a cold front dips into the region.
The main focus is on a strong low-pressure system from the Southern Plains. Showers are possible on Tuesday as a warm front lifts into the area. More rain showers are likely on Wednesday as the low-pressure system tracks into the Great Lakes. Colder air surges into the area with precipitation switching over to a rain/snow mix to even snow showers by Thursday morning.
Warm ground temperatures will play a role in any accumulation. Rain/snow showers are possible through the end of the week as the low pressure exits the region. High temperatures will struggle to reach the low 40s on both Thursday and Friday. Along with the mixed bag of precipitation, strong winds are possible. We will continue to fine-tune this upcoming system as changes in the track and strength of the low pressure may result in some adjustments.
