A police operation targeting the Livingston and Lonsdale Bloods has led to the arrest of 16 gang members in east Columbus, authorities said.

Operation Pocket Aces has been in progress for over a year and a half, focusing on dismantling area gangs and drug trafficking networks. "We have made it abundantly clear that Columbus will not tolerate gang activity on our streets," Columbus Assistant Police Chief LaShanna Potts said. "We will use every available resource to identify, arrest, and prosecute if you choose to do violence here."

After 21 search warrants, authorities recovered 56 guns, over $156,000, and a "large amount" of drugs, including fentanyl, oxycodone, methamphetamine, and cocaine. Officers believe these efforts are making a positive impact on community safety. "I think when we do a big round-up, and you take violent gang members out of one specific pocket of the city, it’s going to make a huge difference," Sgt. Shawn Gruger of the Columbus Police said, "I hope it will bring peace to this neighborhood in the days to come.""As long as there are group and gang violence in the city, we’re going to keep doing these cases," officials stated.who told others through text he was moving two kilograms of cocaine a month.
